*** My mother and I had the pleasure last week of trying a new restaurant in David we've been hearing about. It is everything – and more – that the owner says below. We had Mahi-Mahi in a Veracruz Sauce and Mahi-Mahi in a beurre blanc and caper sauce. Both were perfectly prepared and a special treat to taste buds tired of the same old thing. We couldn't resist sharing the Pear Salad @ $2.75 (Lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, carrots, honey roasted peanuts, and pear with Gorgonzola dressing) as the starter and knew we were in for a treat for the rest of the meal! We were also delighted with the Passion Fruit liquado made with the fresh fruit (not a mix). He has daily specials as well – the day we were there they included prawns and lobster among others.
You'll be pleased with the portions, the flavors, the freshness, the preparation and especially with the value for the cost. I encourage you to visit the webpage for a look at his menu.
The owner, Jorge, is a delightful Panamanian who speaks perfect English. Tell him Diane & Lillian sent you and take the coupon below for a free desert.
*** I agree. This is a great restaurant. Jorge lived close to me in East Grand Rapids, Michigan for many years but our paths never crossed. Our paths have now crossed in Panama.
To get to Mani, take the road on the Panama City side of Super Baru (as if you were going to the bus station). Go to the first stop sign. Java Juice is on your right. Turn left and go about 100 meters down the hill. Mani is on the left side.
